Talented Orange County Teens volunteer their time to make a difference in the community!

We are thrilled to announce that Sharp Turn Ahead (www.sharpturnahead.com), an amazing band of 14 year old twin brothers Benjamin and Kyle Sharp will be putting on a concert for the After-walk program along with the talented 15 year old singer/songwriter Sidney Bowen (www.sidneybowenmusic.com).  Right before the concert, we will have contemporary ballet dance performances by exceptional young dancers Sydney Danci, Alice Danci, Elise Newen and Silvi Lybbert from Southland Ballet Academy (www.festivalballet.org) and a vocal solo by 14 year old singer Samantha Bui.

We are also happy to announce that we will have the honor of enjoying a short food preparation demo by Chef Saifon, founder of The Free Pantry and True Shabu restaurant (www.trueshabu.com) and the raw food chef Chef Colleen Cackowski (www.bestrawchef.com) and comedy improv by Style Laughter (www.stylelaughter.com).  In the Kids Zone area, there will be book signing opportunities with the author of Fit Kids Revolution Dr. Patricia Riba (www.drribashealthclub.org), crafts, facepainting, photobooth and other fun and educational activities for kids.  And of course there will be food trucks, not-to-miss raffles, and the Walk Team Challenge winning team prize presentation!

The OCCares Walk will be held on November 23, 2014 from 7:00am to 12:00pm at The Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley.  The Walk is family friendly so there is no age limit, although minors will need to be accompanied by a parent or a caretaker.  Please visit www.occares.org for details on the Walk, including the map.  For more information: email us at info@occares.org or call us at 714-756-0066.

This is one family event that you will not want to miss!  Come celebrate thanksgiving with family and friends while raising funds to reduce the number of children in OC (current statistics:  1 in 5 children in OC) that face hunger everyday!
